Lord Jagannath Temple 🛕

Lord Jagannath Temple is an important and ancient Hindu temple located in Puri city of Odisha, one of the culturally rich state in the eastern coastal region of India.


This temple is specifically dedicated for the worship of Lord Jagannath along with his elder brother, Lord Balabhadra and younger sister Devi (Goddess) Subhadra.
Lord Sudarshan is also being worshipped with them in the same pendal. Hence four deities (Chaturdha Murthy) are being worshipped in the main temple.

The temple premises is also having many smaller to bigger temples, surrounding the chief temple, having several other deities being worshipped there.
The present temple was rebuilt by King Chodaganga Deva, the first king of the Ganga dynasty. Whereas it is believed that the original temple was created by King Indradyumna, a very ancient King in the past.
